As of June 30, 2018, Germany’s largest skatepark is officially open! That’s right… Düsseldorf is now home to the largest skatepark in Germany and they celebrated proudly on June 30th by inviting skateboarding celebrity guests to make an appearance while the city offered skateboarding workshops for beginners, a handful of awesome food trucks for lunch and live music to set the mood.

The plan has actually been in the works for several years already, but due to a number of delays, they weren’t able to open the doors until now.

Today, along Heidelbergerstraße, you’ll find Skatepark Eller – a 3,800 square meter, 2 million Euro skateboarding park!

Skatepark Eller offers a number of different skate areas including one just for the kiddies and the beginners. Each section is designed to offer different obstacles so that you can develop your skills step-by-step. Who knows, this might be where you make your big debut!

Don’t have a skateboard or the proper attire yet? Decathlon will be your bestfriend when it comes to getting set up and ready to go for a day of skateboarding fun! They offer great discounts on boards, skate shoes, and more!

If you’re interested in checking out the layout of the park, the city of Düsseldorf has shared this neat video with the public:
