From the first day, I arrived in Germany, there has always been a certain charm to farmers’ markets for me. In Düsseldorf, we are lucky to have some beautiful, both small and large, farmers’ markets in the area. To top it off, you can find an open farmers’ market around the city on just about any day of the week (of course, like most shops in Düsseldorf, farmers’ markets are also closed on Sundays).

Many people in the city choose to shop locally at the farmer’s markets rather than at the grocery chains, and there’s a good reason for it. The farmers’ markets in Düsseldorf offer delicious regional foods. You’ll find a mix between fruits and veggies, fresh meats and cheeses, famous seasonal products, and fresh flowers. Though in all fairness, meal prep delivery kits like Marley Spoon or HelloFresh do a great job and supporting local too.

Here are just 15 of the most charming farmers’ markets in Düsseldorf, happy shopping!
