Wait, did we already complete the first month of 2022?? OMG, that was fast! January, no not January! VEGANUARY went by so fast this year for me!

Following veganism is not an easy thing, you guys! When I say I’m a vegetarian or a vegan, I usually want to have something fresh and also healthy instead of frozen food that tastes and smells exactly like meat. Do you get what I mean?

In the past month, I’ve found so many amazing vegan restaurants in Düsseldorf that promise exactly that. So, while I know there are many amazing healthy restaurants around the city (we’ve already written about that over here), I left it up to you guys, our wonderful community, to come up with the best vegan spots to visit this year. And, the results are in! 

Here is the official list of the top 20 vegan restaurants and cafes that are either fully vegan or have many vegan options on their menu to choose from.

Sattgrün

Hungry? Having 3 locations in Düsseldorf, Sattgrün offers an awesome vegan buffet spread across the city. From salad to noodles, soup to cakes, everything is fresh and natural. They offer 3 different sizes of plates: small, medium and large and the best part is that you get so much food for a very reasonable price.

TO1980 – Vietnamese Street Food

A fully vegan restaurant on Immermannstraße! To1980 offers authentic Vietnamese street food. Their dishes look so colorful and appetizing. Large portions of bowls, but not too expensive at all. They even have an English menu.

 

Beets & Roots

Beets & Roots is another gem on Immermannstraße offering freshly prepared salads, soups, bowls, and a whole lot more. Do try their Signature avocado bowl which is not only vegan but also gluten-free! Beets & Roots is open from 11 am for lunch and dinner.

 

Sen Vegan Cuisine

They offer vegan sushi!! Do you really need more reasons than to visit Sen Vegan restaurant? Visit them at Moorenstraße for lunch/dinner or order online on Lieferando.

 

Çigköftem Düsseldorf Stadtmitte

Çigköftem serves Turkish köfte, wraps, and various salads. The staff is very friendly and even offers you to taste so you can decide what to buy. 

 

Veganland Cigköfte

Veganland Cigköfte is similar to Cigköftem and located on Münsterstraße. They offer a wide range of options like wraps, burgers, snacks, all vegan, and also a lot of vegan Turkish desserts like baklava and my favorite, kadayif.

Fleischfrei

This is a must for vegans and vegetarians because Fleischfrei offers vegan pizzas and burgers. To be honest, it is so hard to find both pizza and burgers in one single place! They are located on Oberbilk Allee for takeaway and also dine-in.

 

Jade Vegetarian Küche

Jade Vegetarian Küche on Dürener Straße serves absolutely delicious Asian food. They have a gigantic menu with everything vegetarian/vegan! 

 

Greentrees the Juicery 

The name says it all. Greentrees the Juicery offers healthy and deliciously fresh and cold-pressed juices. Some really interesting combinations of fruits and vegetables like apple-cucumber-mint and lemon. My favorite is Shelly’s summer spice. Definitely reminds me of summer!

 

Green Karma

Located in 4 different locations around Düsseldorf, Green Karma serves some Instagram-worthy bowls! They don’t just look pretty but they taste amazing as well. The best part is that you can even choose what goes in your bowl or wraps. Do try their beetroot latte and Kurkuma latte along with their bowls if you get a chance.

Oakberry Acai Bowls

Oakberry is a small dine-in and pickup place close to Burgplatz in the Altstadt and they offer you authentic Brazilian açai berry smoothie and smoothie bowls with a lot of toppings to choose from.

 

manko – café & workspace 

Manko cafe on Hüttenstraße offers a great space to co-work with hi-speed wifi and excellent coffee with vegan milk as an option. Not just coffee, but also some vegan bagels and cakes that are also gluten-free.

 

Finefine Healthy

With 5 locations in Düsseldorf, Finefine promises to deliver fresh and healthy food to your doorstep and workplace. Their food not only fits the vegan diet but also low carb and high protein diets which is incredible!

Hans im Glück

I haven’t seen any other place that offers such a large selection of vegan burgers. Hans im Glück at Gustaf-Gründgens Platz and Hammerstraße even keep very delicious vegan sauces on their tables that compliments vegan burgers perfectly. Their cocktails are equally delicious.

 

Shari’s Kitchen

A very cozy and friendly cafe on Collenbachstraße. Shari’s Kitchen has a fixed menu for breakfast but a new menu for lunch every day with a lot of vegan options. They also have space on the terrace and it’s beautiful, especially in the summer.

 

Isabella Glutenfreie Patisserie

Every cake/pastry is gluten-free but also so many vegan options. They also have salads and quiches and many more breakfast options. Next time you feel like having something delicious and sweet with healthier ingredients, you can head straight to Isabella’s pastry shop on Arnulfstraße.

 

Birdie & CO. Deli

Perfect for breakfast on any given day. Birdie & CO. has 3 locations in Düsseldorf. They offer vegan porridges, vegan smoothie bowls, and also bagels. A wide range of options for cakes and cookies too.

MaKE. 

MaKE. on Friedrichstraße serves up warm soups, salads, and bowls with both vegetarian and vegan options. The best thing about MaKE. is they even mention how many calories each dish has on the menu. 

 

Dean & David

Dean & David’s vegan falafel bowl is pretty famous in Düsseldorf and it deserves to be because it is super tasty. They have 2 branches, Hunsrückenstraße and Konrad-Adenauer Platz.

Laura’s Deli

Another cozy cafe on Carlsplatz offers healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch with vegan options. Laura’s Deli also serves some vegan cakes every day.

 

Other yummy ones include I Love Birdie, Resi Lecker, My Gemuse Döner, The Funky Deli, Takumi Chicken & Veggie, and Bibimcup. Which vegan restaurant is your favorite?
