So you’ve already been through the process of bringing your pet to Germany and now it’s time for the check-up at one of the vets! There’s nothing more frustrating than finding out your beloved furry friend is sick and not knowing where to go or understanding what you need to do to help him/her get better. While learning German is an essential step to integrating into the culture here in Düsseldorf, understanding doctors and veterinary appointments is not something one would expect you to do unless you’ve been here a while.

Practical Tip: Want to save on those vet bills? In Germany particularly, it’s very important to consider getting pet insurance (bites are included in pet insurance). This would cover any incidents in regards to breaking or injuring a person, place, or thing. You can compare your insurance options and pricing or you can go with a popular expat choice like GetSafe (it’s in English!) and AXA (not in English, but also a great option).
